Please try putting the Felty in your guitar like I show in the video and see if it stays firmly in place. Please comment and tell me if you have any questions that come up!
Hi Kyle, my 3 kids and I are doing this together and really excited! It’s hard to take it slow because of the initial excitement, but as we’ve learned through other music lessons, patience is important!

That’s great that you’re doing this with your kids! Hope the excitement continues!
Yes, try to imitate exactly what you see in the video, with the Felty under the five largest strings, leaving only the smallest open to make sound. If it doesn’t make total sense now, don’t worry about it. We will go over Felty placement when we use it in our first exercise.
Hi Kyle-sorry I’ve been a little slow to get to the videos. Just watched all of them in a row. The pacing and information is great! I’m very excited to start playing! I’ll sign off as Mary F. since there is a fellow Mary in this feed:)
I’m glad to be watching these first 3 intro videos in the same day because too little info feels like there’s no momentum.
This is a clear description of your clever method and I feel oriented and ready to start! I definitely got discouraged and gave up the guitar before after trying to learn to switch chords rapidly.

Very good info!
When we are using the felty do we put it near the guitar hole like you did in the video?
that question is from me, Lou

What type of guitar do you have? Feel free to email me a picture of the Felty in your guitar and I can tell you if it looks normal.

I like how you voiced the discouraging parts of being a beginner. It shows that you understand the obstacles and are here along side us.
This work has an elegant simplicity to it, yet it holds layers of depth beneath the surface.
